It’s that time of year again.
Strangely, this time of year always brings a new batch of clients desperate to lose weight before the Summer.
Interestingly, I just finished working with a lady whose primary goal was to lose weight, despite being riddled with a plethora of other health issues. These were seemingly not as important as fitting into her size 10 jeans. You can read her story here
Although there isn’t anything wrong with wanting to feel and look trim, I unfortunately often see women (mostly) adopt extreme measures to achieve the desired weight loss, at the expense of their health.
Following which, Nutritionists and other ‘alternative’ health practitioners are often here to pick up the pieces and help re-establish balance. Because balance is the only way to achieve your ‘ideal’ weight.
Weight gain/loss is a sign of imbalance. In many cases, the gut, liver and/or hormones may be involved, but one element is common to all: mindset.
I would like to make a bold statement here: weight gain is about an imbalanced mindset that creates imbalances in the body’s systems (digestive, hormonal, metabolic etc).
Therefore, the only way to achieve lasting changes to your weight is to actually address what’s in your mind and emotions when, what and how you eat, which will help to soothe and reassure your body back into balance.
Then, and only then will your body ‘release’ the weight. Just like my client found after realising the impact of her mind on her body and changed her inner ‘programming’.
She understood her triggers, the feelings that always brought up her ‘unwanted’ eating behaviour, her attitude to food. Self-awareness and understanding are key to losing weight, and to re-establish balance at all levels of your being.
