What better way to fight sore throats and coughs than a delicious hot drink that’s packed with immune-boosting antioxidants and anti-inflammatory natural ingredients?
500ml filtered water
1 bunch of fresh thyme
1/2 fresh lemon juice
The rind of 1 whole (organic) lemon
½ tsp turmeric powder
A pinch of black pepper (to activate the turmeric, so not optional)
½ tsp freshly grated or ground ginger
1 tsp raw unpasteurised honey (to taste)
Bring the water to boil with the ginger, thyme, lemon rind, turmeric and black pepper.
Let the mixture simmer covered for 10-15 minutes
Let it sit for 5 minutes while you squeeze your lemon juice in a mug.
Sieve the mixture into the fresh lemon, add some water if need be.
Add honey to taste (optional)
Sip a mug twice a day.
