So if you’re following my blog and stumbled upon my ‘Fats vs Sugar’ article you might find this little gem very very helpful in countering the sugary withdrawal symptoms you may be experiencing during your detox.
This gorgeous smoothie has lots of protein to help with blood sugar, great levels of good fats to make you feel content and you won’t want to look at that bowl of sweet powder again! Great after exercise or just as a snack when the cookie jar is beckoning..
Here it is:
1 handful of frozen berries
2 Tbsp of almond or cashew nut butter
2 Tbsp of sunflower and pumpkin seeds
2 Tbsp chia seeds
2 Tbsp de-hulled hemp seeds (aka hemp heart)
1 handful of raw almonds (soaked overnight and rinsed)
1 Tbsp creamed coconut
water to taste and consistency desired.
Blend the lot – best in a high powered blender
and enjoy!..slowly – it’s a meal in itself so ‘chew’ slowly..
