Nathalie Patey, Nutritional Therapist

About Nathalie Patey BA, MA, DNN  mFNTP

I 'discovered' good nutrition and its resulting effects on health and behaviour when I became an au-pair aged 18, in a vegan family in Boston, USA. Having been raised in France on a diet of baguette, pasta, cheese and fresh produce, I adopted my new diet wholeheartedly and subsequently lost weight and felt renewed energy, had clearer skin and felt very healthy. I also noticed the effect of their diet on the children of the family. I had never before met such polite, balanced, calm and bright children - and I put it down to what they did and did not eat!

Later having my own children further raised my interest in nutrition, particularly when my first-born developed eczema as a baby and food allergies. My interest became a personal quest to find the right foods and natural remedies to rid him of his eczema. I believe that I cured him through natural remedies and proper nutrition. My search for health eventually led me to give up my marketing career to study and qualify as a Nutritional Therapist.

I studied at the College of Natural Nutrition with Barbara Wren and qualified as a Natural Nutrition Therapist. Barbara has been a great inspiration and her vision and work have been a revelation that changed my life at a very deep level.

Although I do not specialise in a specific field, my special interests and passions include children, sports nutrition, weight and food 'issues', pregnancy.
